3lb boneless pork roast
2 cloves garlic
1 small can diced chiles
1 lb. pinto beans sorted and rinsed
1 Tbsp. salt
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. cumin
1 Tbsp. oregano
Put all in pan and cover with water. Cook over low heat for 3 hours (or in crockpot).
Break roast--put on cutting board and shred or cut if too hot.

Submitted by Laura M., Bartlett, TnLaura said she found out this trick by accident. And I am so glad she did. I just got a new smooth top cooktop stove. I never realized how hard it was to keep it clean. She said to take a swiffer wet pad, not "Wet Jet" solution, and wipe the surface. It will take off any grease and grime! She said any cheap brand will also do. She goes to Sam's Club to buy the bulk size cheap brand.

Baked Potato Soup4-6 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
6-8 C chicken broth (canned or leftover from boiling chicken)
1-2 C milk
salt and pepper
Opt- bacon, cheese, sour cream, chives, crackers, cornbread
1. Boil potatoes in broth until tender.
2. Mash with potato masher. Do not mash completely! Leave a few good chunks of potato.
3. Add milk, salt, pepper. Stir together.

New Years Eve Party: When the kids were young we still wanted to stay home and have a news years party with them. Being young and they couldn't stay up til midnight, so this party started at 6:00. As they have gotten older I have waited til later to start.

Here are a few tips I have used over the years to keep my Christmas morning sanity. Before, I have lost parts to toys and batteries. Not so much fun for the little one wanting to play with his gift! I've also thrown in time saving tips for you, too.
Clean Up Tips1. As you and your family unwrap presents, put all the wrapping paper in a trash bag.
2. If you save ribbon , bows, boxes, or bags: Keep a large Christmas bag and put them in it as you unwrap.

I only spent $35.57...well, kind of. I have the most precious aunt in the world! She sent me a $50.00 gift card to Wal-Mart so I could buy my Christmas baking supplies. Tip of the Week
Here are a few ideas that I have for stocking stuffers. Some are frugal, some are not. And they are in no particular order. Some can be for kids as well as teens or adults. So, I just mixed them all together. I also like to wrap most of the things I put in their stockings. It gives us more time in the morning! This is a recipe from a friend, Ami McVay. This was the first time I had made her recipe and I messed up from the start. The night I made the turkey I was supposed to cover with water and sit in fridge all night. I left those orders to my hubby as I ran out to a cookie swap. The next day I realized that didn't happen. Today is my second sons 11th birthday!! I love birthdays! I love any good reason for a party! So, today we aren't really doing anything "christmassy". He and a few friends are going to play laser tag, and come home for pizza and apple pie. He doesn't like cake, so I'm making his favorite- apple pie! This week I had to buy a few things for my sons birthday party. The price is a little higher than I really wanted it to be. But, he is worth it!! Todays Christmas activity is quite simple. We are painting the ornaments that we made the other day. Today is very simple. We are going to lay the Bible, open to Luke 2, beside the Nativity Scene. It is a tradition that my husband reads Luke 2 on Christmas Eve. Today the kids and I are going to make another birthday box for Jesus. Yes, I did mean "another" because the one we have now is falling apart. It is a beautiful Gold wrapping paper to represent Jesus being King of Kings.

Because I went to the store Monday I only needed to get sales stuff. I think I did really great at Kroger. If my store ever tripled coupons like other Kroger stores I could've have gotten so much more. But with these two shopping days I will have enough for next week. Tip of the Week
I started this tradition about 10 years ago. With all the busyness Christmas can bring I wanted my kids to appreciate the REAL reason we celebrate Christmas. It is easy to get caught up in the decorating and shopping, but that's not what it is about. This is not so "Yummy", but it's fun! Everyday after Thanksgiving until Christmas the kids and I do something extra special for Christmas. Yesterday we made salt dough ornaments. I am a stay-at-home-mom(SAHM) married to the love of my life, Jeff Nelson. We have five wonderful boys. Ryan(13), Seth(11), Ian(8), Noah(5), Luke(4), and Jack (born April 2010). We live in Tennessee on 4 acres. I grew up the first few years of my life on a dairy farm in Missouri and loved country living. I was saved at a young age by the grace of God and shed blood of Jesus during that time of simple country living. That part of my life is very dear to me. God taught me many things as a baby Christian that I can still think about today. Then we moved to Memphis when I was in the 5th grade. I learned to love the city life, too. It was a completely different way of life. My whole family still lives in Missouri, still does a little farming and simple country living. When Jeff, the kids, and I moved from the city to the country, I incorporated my city life with my country background. My mom laughs at me when I cut my grass on my John Deere tractor while drinking my Starbucks Mocha and wearing my fancy sunglasses. And when I am shampooing my carpet in my high-heeled black boots. I just love those boots! But I would love to share about how I got to be the way I am today, The Victoriously Organized Woman! I used to work as a supervisor at bank for years. I had to dress up everyday. After the birth of our second child we decide I should be a SAHM. One of the best decision I've ever made. But I made a bad decision, too. I hardly ever dressed up anymore. I hardly ever wore make-up. After about a year I looked in the mirror and said, "OH MY! Jeff has to come home to this!?!" He is so wonderful he said he liked me that way, "natural". Well , I realized that I didn't. It made me feel bad about myself. I felt disorganized, tired and stressed and a little "rough" looking. I felt I just couldn't get it all done. At this time I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease. I wasn't able to do certains things. Like mop the floor of my completely hardwood floor home that I was obsessed about keeping clean. The doctor told me I couldn't have salt, caffeine, or stress! "What?! Are you kidding!?" So , then I decided to change my routine,thought pattern, and cooking. I began to get up early, shower and dress, put on make up. Always being ready to leave whenever I needed to. I established routines that helped me eliminate extra cleaning and stresses. I was able to make more time for myself and make more time for my family. And the family had more time for each other. I made more time for God and others. This made me feel better about myself. I am so happy about how this changed my life I want to share it with everyone.
